A bloodied but defiant Batman pursues Ra's Al Ghul "past [Batman's] dying", leaving an incredulous Ra's to exclaim "Are you man or fiend from Hell?"

Checklist of DC deluxe titles for April 1988.

Batman tracks Ra's Al Ghul to the desert and is forced to fight him in a duel.

On a moonlit night, The Batman stands atop the roofs of Gotham. "The Batman" is spelled out by the scape of tall, but narrow, buildings in Will Eisner-esque style.

Batman stops a crooked political group for framing another political group for the murder of Bruce Wayne.

Batman swings off a high building. Below, the stylized image of a bat defines the lower panel border as well as half of each side's borders.

Batman captures Kano Wiggins and also helps solve the murder of a circus side-show performer.

Ra's Al Ghul looms large over a scene of Robin being shot before a horrified Batman can react.

Batman is left for dead in the desert by Ra's Al Ghul.
