- In Secret They Rule - Panel 1 - "Enki, palasu annu quppu" : Enki is a Sumerian God. He is the god of intelligence, crafts, mischief, water (including seawater and lakewater) and creation. The exact translation of his name is disputed, but is generally regarded to be "Lord of Earth" (En- meaning lord and Ki meaning Earth). "Palasu" means break, "annu" means this and "quppu" means cage. "Enki, break this cage..." Panel 2 - "Lapa annu wardum ana simtim alaku" : "Lapa" means before, "annu" means this, "wardum" means slave and "ana simtim alaku" is "die". The full phrase would then be "...before this slave dies".
