A story with approximately twelve abrupt back and forth shifts in time. Petra recovers from breast reduction surgery to help her back problem. Fritz visits her mom Maria who objects to Petra's surgery. Flashback to the first time Petra met Gorgo when she was a little girl, then to a time he saved the girls after a car accident. Gorgo accidentally lets Petra know that she has a half-sister named Luba. Petra asks him to find her. He then gets shot multiple times in her front porch by a Garza partisan. Flash forward to Maria's funeral, who has died at the age of sixty-two due to a brain tumor.

Pipo narrates her life story up to that point- her birth, the birth of her son, her marriage and divorce from Gato and how she grew her successful sportwear business both in Palomar and then later in Hollywood without knowing a word of English. Fills in many gaps left from previous stories.
Penny gets fired from her waitressing job after only a few hours of working. Maggie replies to some want ads for mechanic jobs but doesn't get hired. She recounts to Gina the first time she pulled a trick after breaking up with Hopey for good and being stuck in the East Coast with not enough money to get back. Gina tells Maggie she wants to be her girlfriend.

- Pipo - First reference to Guadalupe having a secret baby boy which will later be revealed to be Jimmy Reyna, her son with future husband Gato. Pipo's reference to Gato slapping her in front of everyone occurred in the Ecce Homo story from issue ten. The reference to the rampaging monkeys, her affair with Khamo and the serial killer refers to the Human Diastrophism story from LR #20-26.
- Maggie The Mechanic or Perla The Prostitute - Details what happened to Maggie during her absence between issues thirty-three and forty of the series. Maggie's reference to her girlfriend posing as a call girl refers to a story Hopey told her in issue thirty's 93 Million Miles from the Sun story. Rand Race is revealed to have gotten married.
