The All-Stars are saved from the King of Tears by the timely arrival of a new friend, Anna Fortune. Meanwhile, Stargirl and Atom-Smasher quest for a way out of the Subtle Realms and grow closer. Just as the pair seem to be about to escape, Anna Fortune attempts to transport the All-Stars to the Subtle Realms but something goes terribly wrong.

While Liberty Belle and Tigress wait, Hourman and Icicle go to meet with Blue to buy the book. Though they don't find Blue, they do find the book and a trap. After Liberty Belle and Tigress free the men from the trap, the villains agree to work together with the heroes to use the clues in the book to find the tachophixyl before Blue and his boss do.
