The JSA is roused by something causing spatial disturbances in the brownstone. Ted and Mr. Terrific split the youngsters up into to teams to search the building. While the teams experience adventures that seem to happen with dream-logic, the veterans track the source of the disturbance to a mystic artifact that Hector Hall left behind when he was Dr. Fate. The new Dr. Fate arrives and confirms that the artifact is the problem, so Ted destroys it.
Cyclone finds a depressed Mr. America sitting alone in his room. She tells him how Ma Hunkel met Tex Thomson before either put on a costume, but she could see that Tex, even without a costume, was already a hero.
Citizen Steel hears the voice of his mother calling him to the roof to save her and his brother Kirk from glass creatures sent by Reichsmark and learns that though they are metal statues they can still communicate with him.
Ted and Mr. Terrific find Amazing Man in Dr. Fate's meditation chamber, where Markus sees the elementals who give him his power and experiences a test of faith reminiscent of the flooding of New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina.
Tommy participates in significant moments of his parents' shared past.
Cyclone meets Power Girl for the first time and gets swept up in a fight between Icicle and Wildcat.
Dr. Mid-Nite surgically removes all the people who have caused Damage pain but Gog makes him see that that pain made him the person he is today.
