While investigating a crime scene similar to his mother's murder, Barry experiences cryptic visions of other speedsters. Barry believes the Speed Force is trying to warn him of something. Shortly after, the time-lost original Wally West appears to Barry, who does not remember him at first, but suddenly his memories return and he pulls Wally back into the timeline. After warning Barry about a mysterious force manipulating the timeline, Wally leaves to join the Titans, while Barry heads to Gotham City to compare notes with Batman regarding the force behind the altered timeline.

- ...Doomed to Repeat It... - The scene from DC Universe: Rebirth #1 (2016) where Barry pulls the original Wally West back into the timeline is re-told here from Barry's point of view. Events in this issue lead into The Flash (DC, 2016 series) and Titans (DC, 2016 series). Batman and The Flash agree to investigate the mystery of the smiley face button and who has been manipulating their timeline. The follow up to this appears in "The Button" storyline in Batman (DC, 2016 series) #21-22 and The Flash (DC, 2016 series) #21-22.
