A missile destroys part of the Deep Marine Discovery research station, killing most of the personnel. Aspen finds that the ocean doesn't kill her as Killian pulls her away from the wreckage. Test pilot Chance (who fired the missile) finds Aspen floating with her body converting to bubbles.
