NEUROCOMIC TP
Do you know what your brain is made of? How does memory function? What is a neuron and how does it work? For that matter what's a comic? And in the words of Lewis Carroll's famous caterpillar: 'Who are you?' Neurocomic is a psychedelic journey through the human brain that explores how we feel, remember, and dream by way of graphic novel. Examining the differences between brain, mind, and soul as well as how different mental illnesses and substances impact our brain activity, it ventures from deserted islands and neuron forests to memory caves and castles of deception. Hana's brilliant use of fantasy as a framing and world building to educate the reader is brilliant. Using a mythical brigade of characters like guitar-playing sea slugs, giant toads, and sea monsters to tell the story, she creates a 'down the rabbit hole' atmosphere that takes the reader on a trip that feels at times psychedelic, although the art is done entirely in black and white. Now in paperback, Hana Roš and Matteo Farinella provide an insight into the most complex thing in the universe.
