Batman 1940 #256 - 7.5 - $18.00
When Bruce discovers that Dick has left Hudson University to investigate some mystery at the Tip-Top Circus, Batman decides to join the Teen Wonder to investigate a murder at the circus.
Batman and Robin are challenged to a game of "Touch Hunt" on famed Dinosaur Island in return for a gift to charity in the amount of $5000...if they win the game. But they soon discover that they are the prey being hunted...by a very human adversary!
Throughout his life, Joe Coyne felt threatened, done in by pennies and coppers, so he decides to use the "copper penny" as a trademark of his crimes.
While visiting their trophy room, the Caped Crusaders come across a bullet-proof vest, a keepsake from a case involving the Rafferty Brothers, who unwittingly implicated their brother Peter in a murder.
As they add trophy 1000 to the Bat-Cave's collection, the Caped Crusaders decide to check over the other trophies to make sure they are in good shape. They are called out on another case, bringing back trophy 1001 unaware that the evil Dr. Doom is hiding inside and plans to rig some of the trophies in the Bat-Cave to kill the Dynamic Duo.
The founder/owner of Batman Island is followed home by criminals seeking films the man has been shooting that could finger them for a crime they committed.
