The Avengers 1963 #196 Direct ed. - 9.4 - $130.00
- First app: Taskmaster
The Avengers rescue Yellowjacket, Ant-Man and Wasp from the Taskmaster.
- The Terrible Toll of the Taskmaster - Scott Lang, the Ant-Man, is mistakenly referred to, in page 3 panel 4, as Scott Harris. The teaser for the next issue sets up the return of Red Ronin with a question asking "What's big and red and fights fire-breathing Dinosaurs?". This is in reference to Godzilla when Marvel had the license for the character from 1977-1979 and Red Ronin being a character that debuted in that series.
- The Trap - Comic strip ad for Hostess Twinkies from ITT Continental Baking Company.
- - David Michelinie on how Marvel is now having writers conduct their own letters pages and letters on The Avengers #192. Letters from readers: Kurt Busiek, Kyle Turner, John Riley
- The Dingo Kids Meet O.J. Simpson - Inside back cover. Comic strip ad for Dingo boots from Acme Boot Company, Inc., a subsidiary of Northwest Industries, Inc.
