Yon-Rogg continues to plot against Mar-Vell, launching a secret attack that kills bystander Walter Lawson. Taking advantage of the situation, Mar-Vell assumes Lawson's identity and his new job at the nearby military base so that the Kree can continue their plans for the conquest of Earth. Later, he is surprised to find that the military has discovered an inert Kree Sentry, which is reactivated by Yon-Rogg and threatens to destroy the base.

The Vision must face a mad professor who believes that the laws of nature are meant to be broken and that man must take the power into his own hands to control all the elements. Zagnar does, with horrific results!

Using a giant refrigeration unit, Namor thwarts a Soviet invasion of the Caribbean.

  • - Inside front cover, issue credits, listing of stories with one panel reprinted from each story. Credits include Roy Thomas, Sol Brodsky, Gary Friedrich, John Verpoorten, Stan Goldberg and Flo Steinberg.
  • Where Stalks the Sentry! - This story is continued in Marvel's Space-Born Superhero! Captain Marvel (Marvel, 1968 series) #1 (May 1968). Captain Mar-Vell conveniently steals the identity of collateral casualty, physicist Dr. Walter Lawson, just assigned to the military base! He thus acquires his first covert identity. Lawson has no background otherwise. A plot from Lawson's past emerges in Captain Marvel #9 under Arnold Drake. The feature character is still only called Mar-Vell in balloons (pages 6, 7, 9, 10, 13, 14, 19) and by the narrator (pages 11, 12), who also identifies him as a space officer (pages 11, 20).
  • The Vikings - Stan Lee writer credit removed based on information from the Timely/Atlas discussion list. Leif the Lucky is possibly a reference to Leif Erikson, first known European to have set foot on North America.
  • Human Torch - Fugitive at Large! - Inks credit by Dr. Michael Vassallo (May 2009). Previous indexer had Dick Ayers for both pencils and inks.
  • The Book of Sorcery - The Masterworks edition lists the writer[s] as unknown. Per Michael J, Vassallo via Atlas Tales (and his art id for the Masterworks): "Kirby splash and some Kirby layouts or breakdowns. Al Avison pencils attributed A mish-mash of Avison(?), Hart (?) and a guess at Sekowsky (?)" Previous indexer credited Kirby on pencils and Simon on inks.
  • More Batty Bulletins to Bewilder, Bewitch, and Bedazzle Thee! - Stan's Soapbox; Items; The Mighty Marvel Checklist; Let's Meet 26 More M.M.M.S. Members!
  • - Letters of comment from readers Rick Hart, J.L. Watts and Dave Cockrum are printed. One panel from Marvel Super-Heroes (Marvel, 1967 series) #12 is also reprinted as well as a new illustration, likely by John Verpoorten.
