Godzilla lands on American soil by bursting out of an iceberg off the coast of Alaska, and proceeds to attack an oil pipeline. S.H.I.E.L.D. (led by Dugan and Woo) arrive and try to stop Godzilla with a powerful laser cannon but fail. Godzilla eventually leaves just as Nick Fury arrives with a Japanese scientist (along with his assistant and his grandson) who might have the answer to stop Godzilla.

After Spider-Man rejected her love, Madam Web blocks the harbor and makes everyone think that Spidey is to blame.
