Newspaper publisher J. Jonah Jameson tries to promote his son, astronaut John Jameson, as a better hero than the new costumed Spider-Man but Spider-Man ends up saving John's life when a rocket malfunction puts his life in danger. Jameson spins the story in the Bugle making Spider-Man look like a villain and so Peter Parker's troubles begin.
Peter decides to try and make a little cash by joining the Fantastic Four but Spider-Man ends up battling them instead. Spider-Man captures the super-spy of a thousand faces known as the Chameleon.
