Sub-Mariner and Krang battle over New York. When Sub-Mariner loses his memory at the end of the battle the leader of the Secret Empire, known only as "Number One", tells him that he is his friend.

The Hulk has saved Betty from the Boomerang but Ross thinks he has kidnapped his daughter, so he sends the whole force of gamma base after the jade giant. While the military is distracted with their Hulk hunt, Boomerang tries once again to capture the Orion missile.
