Kief Llama encounters Hesheme, a digging creature.

Foreword by Lou Stathis

Keif Llama is sent to Caladrea, a moon of Iidossorn, to solve a problem with the mining operation. The mining is carried out by large digging creatures called fosstrics. Hesheme, a fosstric, explains that they are having problems with worms. She calls on a worm expert, Simon Rieche, to help solve the problem. They attempt to remove a huge worm that makes up much of the moon's volume, then realize their mistake. The microscopic worms in the rock are caused by the mining company's artificial atmosphere. The moon is evacuated, but the fosstrics carry on mining under a treaty with Confed.
