Stark is abducted by the queen of an underground kingdom to help her invade the surface. As Iron Man, Stark shows her that she would rapidly age on the surface, convincing her to call off the invasion.

Nightmare has discovered the ability to capture humans and bring them to his world for study while they sleep. The police ask Strange's help, as a "last resort," to discover the cause behind a rash of people unable to awaken. Strange tracks the cause down to the Nightmare World, and has a rematch with his old foe.

Underground overlord Tyrannus kidnaps Betty and lures the Hulk into his subterranean kingdom, forcing the Hulk to do his bidding to keep Betty safe. The Jade Giant is powerless until Rick frees Betty, thus leaving the Hulk free to bring the house down on Tyrannus.
