The Mad Thinker has summoned gang leaders to try to become the king of New York. To achieve his goal, he must defeat the Fantastic Four. So he makes sure they are all offered interesting opportunities. While they disband, the Thinker uses the Baxter Building to build his Awesome Android.

A former competitor of Tony Stark becomes the Melter and sabotages one of his plants. Iron Man tries to defend it but must flee before the Melter. He defeats him by constructing an aluminum suit that he cannot melt.

The Watcher is tempted to break his vow of non-interference, but sees that it is for the best to obey.

Hulk escapes from his cell while General Ross forgets about the Toad Men.

Bruce Banner repels the Toad Men invasion.
