Hopey is uptight because Izzy got into an accident and because she hasn't heard from Maggie who is in the island of Chepan. In Rio Frio, Dot tries to get a reluctant Rand Race to agree to an interview but then asks him out to lunch. They then spend the night together which upsets Maggie when she finds out. Dr. Beaky refuses to acquiesce to the Chepan islander's demands for freedom, so they begin to blow up his factories and warehouses one by one. Rand rushes to the island to warn Maggie and the visiting Rena but fails to get there in time before the bomb in their building goes off.

Jesus goes on an apparent rampage, hurting his wife and wrecking his house before heading to the mountains. His old friends Israel, Satch, Vicente and Heraclio get together and go try to find him.

Guadalupe encounters a man on the beach who is staring at her. He comes closer and stares at Casimira and Maricela who are playing in the water. It later turns out to be Isidro, a formerly prosperous man who has run into hard times.

In the first printing there are two ads. The first ad is back issue order info for the first seven issues of the L&R series. It shares the same page with the final part of the letters section. The second ad (on the inside back cover) is for the second issue of Dalgoda. In the second printing (from 1991) the letters on the third page are not included. Instead a full two pages of Love & Rockets material are advertised.
