This story was part 1 of a 3-part series that was intended to run in Vanguard, but the title was cancelled with this issue, due to Pacific Comics going out of business. All three parts were printed in Mr. Monster # 1, published by Eclipse six months later. Writer/artist Michael T. Gilbert explains all this in the editorial page of Mr. Monster # 1, cover-dated January 1985.
