A tale taking place circa 1970. Newlywed Luba, at first dominated by Peter, slowly begins to come into her own and assert herself both sexually and interpersonally. Peter gets deeper involved into the drug trade in his nightclub management role as Isobel calls him repeatedly and Blas comes to him for a job.
Ray meets up with Doyle while looking out his apartment window. The two go to a bar and chance upon Danita who is hiding from her potentially crazy boyfriend.
Maggie, angry at Ray, goes with Hopey to Maya's place for coffee, but wind up doing more than that.
Ray receives several unannounced visitors at his place while worrying that Danita's violent ex Cornelius will be one of them.
Charlie and Ben enjoy seeing a TV news segment about the sixty-year-old black woman they assaulted. Junior Brooks and friends ask Steve if he happens to know who committed the assault. Cynthia gives her son Rex the OK for his Love and Rockets band to play at her upcoming Hollywood party. Kristen buys flowers from street seller Maricela but not before exchanging glances with her.
