The ladies try to get into the sold out Ape Sex concert but fail. Maggie avoids going to see Doyle's new apartment because she belatedly received a bunch of letters from Hopey. Joey tells Ray Hopey is Maggie's lover.

Hopey's band breaks up acrimoniously and go their separate ways. Hopey burns her instruments and spends the night in the band's non-functioning station wagon.

As the search for the killer continues, Miguel sneaks in to the temporarily closed off Palomar and resumes his dalliance with Chelo. Khamo tries to avoid Luba as his fling with Pipo continues. Due to her fasting, Tonantzin faints while walking around in her tribal outfit. Diana and the pregnant Carmen try to force feed her. Chelo catches Riri and Maricela kissing. Humberto is putting up around town drawings identifying Tomaso as the killer. Two dead boys are found, possibly copycat killings. Khamo comes across the missing Chancla by the waterfront, alive but in very rough shape.

Ray meets Doyle's girlfriend, the stripper Lily Rivera at Bumper's topless club. Maggie and Daffy, trying to avoid the cops, run out of Maddog's night club and into Doyle's passing pickup truck thinking it's him rather than Ray who's behind the wheel. Maggie stays over with Ray at Doyle's apartment.
