The rest of the All-Stars arrive in Los Angeles, and Brainwave quickly realizes that the gods belong to the past and are taking their power from their followers' and the JSAers' attachments to the past. Once he gets them all to let go of their pasts, the gods' power fades and they return to Parador vowing never to war against humankind again.
The foursome are arguing over the final disposition of the tachophyxl when Peter Hayes returns, stabs Hourman, and grabs the staff. To recover it, Boris Hayes turns to mist and takes it back from his son as his final act. Using the tachophyxl to keep Hourman stable, Liberty Belle rushes him off for treatment for his wounds, allowing Tigress and Icicle their freedom. Months later, Liberty Belle catches Hourman returning the tachophyxl to its secure resting place after having used it to fulfill a promise.
