As Green Arrow and Black Canary free the captured humans on Taupin's ship, Taupin escapes and flees to Earth. Once there, Taupin demands asylum, but Commander Pi-X-Square of the Lucan Battlefleet arrives and gives Earth's leaders an ultimatum, turn over Taupin to them, or they will kill Taupin's former captives, including Ollie and Dinah. Green Lantern is prevented from helping them as Commander Pi-X-Square's weapons will kill the hostages with any rescue attempt.
